The Rocks, Sydney

Spend a day exploring the rocks and chances are you’ll uncover a few secrets. Steeped in history, the area is famous for its beautiful sandstone building, narrow cobbled streets & cute hotels. But if you want to escape the crowds, The Observer Hotel is place to be.

Our gorgeous pub is definitely one of the best kept’ secrets in The Rocks. The Observer Hotel was built in 1908 on the site of two former hotels: the Observer Tavern (1848–1908) and the Waterman’s Arms (1844–1901) and was originally a residential building.

Today it combines old world charm with contemporary comfort and style. It’s the perfect place to while away the afternoon or evening, enjoy live music every day of the week and catch all your favourite sporting action on giant plasma screens.

It is also ideal for your next function and the friendly staff that will do all they can to make sure your event is a huge success. The Observer Hotel is the best kept secret in the Rocks …. and you can make it your secret too!
